NZ Here I Come!

So I'm currently in New Zealand visiting family for two weeks before my long journey home. It's been a little emotional having to say goodbye to everyone from Oz but I'm sure i'll see many of them again some time.

My last few days were jam-packed, trying to make the most of everything and everyone. As you know from my last post (and this is just an extension), we went out for meals, spent time at the beach and markets, watched films together and partied:

My friends saw me off at the airport, but I bumped into Dom whilst we were waiting for our flights to NZ:

It seemed surreal to be out of Australia after it was all i'd talked about for months and months...

Luckily here in NZ i'm being looked after and my cousin Georgia has been keeping me entertained. We went out to Rotorua for the day:

picnic with friends :)

The we visited Te Puia, a maori village, and saw all the traditional maori buldings, performances, carvings etc.

It also had live geysers and a mud pool:

To round this post off, here are some inspirational quotes from Dr. Seuss I found in a cute little shop whilst browsing in Cambridge:

Time to Relax!

Now that exams are out of the way I have plenty of time to relax, the only problem is that everyone else still has exams so i'm spending most of my time on my own sunbathing at Southbank- which isn't really such a bad thing...

Luckily a lot of my friends have been needing exam breaks so i've been the go-to person to have some fun, which often consists of some sort of food:

We also went to Gold Coast to try a bit of surfing!

I've also been chilling around Garden City shopping mall a lot to make the most of the air-con, but it is also a lovely place to shop, eat and relax:

We planned a surprise birthday party for Jon and it was my job to take him out to dinner to keep him out of the way:

Luckily the surprise was a success and we all had a good time at Katie's Flat.

(goon is ozzy slang for cheap wine)

This week is very busy, packed with dinners and parties to say goodbye- it's hard trying to fit it all in!

Although I've only got 2 days left I've got so much to do, both good and bad (i really need to start packing!). I'm looking forward to my holiday in NZ and to see my family, but my family here will most definitely be missed.

Study Week- I'm Finished!

As suggested by the title, this week has been dedicated to studying, so the majority of my time has been taken up writing an essay and revising for my first and last exam. As of now I am a mixture of pleased and sad to say I've finished my studies at Griffith University!

As a leaving present, my friend made me this. It's a lovely gift which i'll always look at and have fond memories of the times I've spent with my friends.

There's been some late night study sessions, one night Sajiv and I even stayed over at the library and took turns in having little naps. This is what I woke up to at around 4:30 in the morning:

Sometimes more than just a nap was needed. We went out and brought back a full feast of Hungry Jacks:

I had to make sure to take some proper breaks though, which also usually consisted of going out and eating:

Now that I'm free I plan on going to the gym every day and visiting the Southbank Lagoon to top up the tan! I'm also going to try to get out of Brisbane a few more times as well and see what's around such as visit the zoo, try a bit of surfing and explore the markets.
